New Year! New Kitchen!
Well sort of…what started as taking down one small wall ended up as the whole wall in Kitchen Spencer. And everyone loves it! Especially with more space, more benches, more equipment and more flexibility.

We were a little worried– our friends and foes from the City of Melbourne Health Services may not approve. But we got the thumbs up, of course after making some adjustments to the floor plan. And it was all done in due time over the Christmas period and ready for 2011.

So come in a second time to visit us if you previously thought the kitchen was not large enough. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Decorative Sweets - a success story
One thing that we are not short of in Cooking Space is entrepreneurial spirit. Every person that walks through our doors are usually beaming with it – something we relate to. When Ny and James walked through our doors with their business Decorative Sweets – we were impressed with the quality of product they produced especially at such a young age.

It has been almost 6 months and Decorative Sweets and their retail space is now ready. We are pleased that Cooking Space has enabled them to continue their business whilst their retail shop is being fitted out. James has kindly written a small piece for us.

"Starting and setting up a new business can be a very frightening thing, with so many unknowns and more importantly costs! Cooking Space allowed us to test our product and business model to see if it was viable before making the full commitment of setting up our own storefront.

With the worry of buying all that expensive equipment and meeting council requirements already taken care of, we were able to start doing what we do (make cakes) right away.

If you have an idea that you want to test and you need a kitchen, we would highly recommend Cooking Space."
