The Idea

Both of us were having one of our many coffee chats one day. Darwin complained that he couldn’t find an affordable commercial kitchen to expand his growing catering business in Melbourne. Every property inspection he went to would be leased in literally seconds! No existing restaurants would share their kitchen either. And it was just too risky to build his own. Then we thought what if we fitted out a number of kitchens in one building and shared the cost?

The idea of Cooking Space was born. Time sharing is not a new concept. After all we already have car and office sharing, why not a kitchen!

Our vision

Affordable access to a commercial kitchen facility and building a community of like minded food entrepreneurs.

From day one our primary objective is to make it as affordable as possible. We may not have every piece of equipment under the sun or bulging with utensils but we allow you to bring your own and provide storage for it. We provide access to the kitchens by the hour so you only pay for what you use. We encourage regular hire and give you more discounts the more hours you use. If you share the kitchen with another business we will discount even further. All this is to ensure you only pay for what you use.

Only the two of us

There are only the two of us. And hopefully you. We endeavour to meet each and every one of you and do our best to make our kitchens your kitchen too.
